Find Moral Support
There’s likely someone at your business that puts a lot of time and effort into empowering others and helping them to feel like they matter. Maybe you’ve got friends at work that you can trust and confide in when something goes wrong. Or, maybe you have a supervisor that you can trust to do the right thing, even though they’re “above” you in this capacity. No matter what, find moral support and talk to them about what it is that may be going on here. It can relieve your stress and help you to feel safe as you move forward in this situation.
Report it to Higher-Up’s
If you’re not able to take care of the situation with moral support (and in some cases you can’t, and that’s perfectly okay), then it may be time to report the problem to your bosses. Whether that means you go to your manager, a supervisor, or the human resources department at your company, you will find that there are a lot of resources that you can work with here. And, if you report to higher ups, they can help you to determine what’s most important, deal with disciplinary action, and do whatever else is necessary in order to ensure your safety and help you to feel safe in the workplace.
Hiring an Attorney
If you’re in a situation where you find it difficult to sort out your next steps, then it may be time to go ahead and hire an attorney. Talk to them about the issues that you’re experiencing and make sure that they know just what it is that is going on here.
